Одним из современных методов лечения заболеваний сетчатки является доставка лекарственного препарата непосредственно внутрь глаза – интравитреальные инъекции.

Наиболее широко такой метод лечения применяется при воспалительных заболеваниях сетчатки и макулодистрофиях.

В зависимости от характера процесса используются высокоочищенные кортикостероиды, оказывающие активное противовоспалительное и противоотёчное действие, и ингибиторы ангиогенеза (препараты, подавляющие рост новообразованных микрососудов и уменьшающие отёк тканей).

Интравитреальное введение препаратов производится в условиях строгой стерильности в операционном блоке.

Использование ультратонких игл позволяет проводить повторы уколов без дополнительной травмы для пациента.

Хотя сама процедура занимает несколько минут, выполнена она должна быть специалистом, владеющим навыками витреоретинальной хирургии.
