Глаукома - это заболевание, при котором повышается внутриглазное давление, изменяются поля зрения и развивается атрофия зрительного нерва.

По данным официальной статистики в мире зарегистрировано 100 млн больных глаукомой, из них 6-7 млн - слепых. Угрожающе звучит тот факт, что каждую минуту в мире слепнет 1 взрослый человек от глаукомы, каждые 10 минут слепнет один ребенок.

В целях привлечения внимания населения и средств массовой информации к проблеме глаукомы, по инициативе Всемирной ассоциации глаукоматологов и Всемирной ассоциации больных глаукомой с 2008 года проводится Всемирный день глаукомы. А с 2011 года – Всемирная неделя глаукомы.

12 марта 2019 года в 10:00 будет проводиться «Школа глаукомы» для пациентов. Мы расскажем вам о доступных методах предупреждения заболевания, лечения и постоперационной профилактике. Наши врачи ответят на любые интересующие вас вопросы.
