Глаукома — опасное хроническое заболевание глаз, которое характеризуется постоянным или периодическим повышением внутриглазного давления. При отсутствии лечения глаукома вызывает необратимое снижение зрительных функций, вплоть до полной слепоты. Зрение, утраченное вследствие глаукомы, не восстанавливается. Если при катаракте обнаружена глаукома, то сначала проводят лечение глаукомы (нормализуют внутриглазное давление) , а потом — катаракты.

Накопленный опыт в проведении подобных операций гарантированно позволяет удалить катаракту на любой стадии зрелости и во всех случаях полностью восстановить зрение.
